Getting around Rottnest
Rottnest Island is an A-Class Nature Reserve, a region of natural beauty and wonder with unspoilt beaches, spectacular flora and abundant marine life and wildlife. Public vehicles are not permitted on the Island, so the traditional way to explore the Island is on a bike.
If riding a bicycle is not your style, you can walk around the Island or use the regular bus service. The Rottnest Island Authority is also committed to access for the mobility impaired, so check out the disabled access page for more information about getting around the Island.
Please note: Electric bikes and vehicles are prohibited on Rottnest Island. Fines will be strictly adhered too and enforced. Only vehicles that are propelled by human power will be allowed around the Island except for individuals that require wheelchair transport. Otherwise, be Safe and happy cycling!
