Rottnest Island Education Services offer a diverse range of programmes, suitable for both primary and secondary school students, community groups and members of the public. These programmes, offered throughout the year, increase understanding of the Island's environment and its management, and encourage appropriate visitor behaviour.
The Environmental Education Programme offers a range of hands-on activities, encouraging active student involvement and experiential learning. The programme is linked with the Curriculum Framework and is aimed at primary and secondary school students.
The Environmental Awareness Course is a comprehensive two-day course, designed for teachers, community leaders and members of the public. The course covers environmental conservation and management of the Island and assists group leaders to plan effective education programmes on the Island.
The annual Seaweek Teachers Expo (established in 2001 by the Rottnest Island Authority) was developed in conjunction with participating organisations, and is aimed at teachers, community leaders and members of the public.
