COVID Safe Advice for Overnight Stays

Additional measures have been introduced at all accommodation venues on Rottnest Island to comply with the WA Department of Health’s COVID Safety Guidelines, including mandatory contact tracing requirements.

To make this process as easy as possible, we recommend that you download the free SafeWA app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, prior to your arrival. This app is a digital contact register provided by the WA Department of Health.

Rottnest Island Authority Accommodation

It is a prerequisite for guests checking in at the Visitor Centre to register their details for the purposes of contact tracing. This can be done by scanning the unique QR code using the SafeWA app or entering details on a written register.

All guests staying in the accommodation will need to register their contact details once during their stay. Please follow the instructions on your in-room signage. QR codes are located inside the accommodation and can be scanned via the SafeWA app. For campsites, QR codes are located in the camp kitchen.

Alternatively, registration can be completed on the written register at the Visitor Centre.

Hotels, Resorts and other Accommodation

All accommodation providers on Rottnest Island are required to comply with the requirements of the WA State Government COVID-19 Safety Guidelines.

If you have booked accommodation at Discovery Rottnest Island, Samphire Rottnest or Karma Rottnest, please follow all instructions provided to you prior to your arrival and ensure you comply with signage and procedures in place upon check-in.

If you have any questions about your stay, please contact your accommodation provider directly.
