Rottnest Island Management Plan 2014-19
A vision and direction for Rottnest Island!
The Rottnest Island Management Plan 2014-19 (RIMP) is now released.
For the first time, the RIMP is a master plan for developing the Island. It is the first five-year instalment of a 20-year vision for Rottnest Island and focuses on meeting the challenges facing the Island’s management in the context of a fluctuating economy and tourism market.
The new RIMP also continues to focus on the challenges associated with the management of an A-class reserve, situated within a coastal environment and the location of extensive cultural heritage. The Island’s unique heritage, landscape and biodiversity are the very values that attract visitors to the Island, and the need to maintain and enhance these values underpins the way forward.
