Pay Island Admission Fee

Admission fees for vessels and individuals

There are entry fees that apply to all visitors, whether you arrive by private or commercial boat, ferry or plane.

Individual admission fees can be paid online.

For those with licensed moorings, this entry cost is covered within your licence fee. For all other boat users and passengers landing at the island, this overview outlines the admission fees applicable when you arrive at Wadjemup.

Admission fees for individuals and families: day trips and extended stays

Fees applicable from 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024 are as follows:

●    Adult / student day visitor: $20
●    Child (4–12 years) day visitor: $7
●    Family group* day visitor: $50
●    Adult / student extended stay**: $27
●    Child (4-12 years) extended stay**: $9
●    Family group* extended stay**: $61

*A family group is two adults and two children. Please note that child rates apply for children aged four to twelve years inclusive. There are no admission fees for children under four.
**An extended stay rate is for a person travelling to and from the island on different days, and is valid for the duration of that visit.

Annual admission fees for vessels

Those visiting the island by boat can pay admission fees per individual per visit or apply for an unlimited seasonal “annual admission” pass.

Admission fees for individuals making a single visit must be paid online before departure. However, frequent visitors may prefer to purchase an annual vessel admission sticker, which is valid from 1 September to 31 August each year. This seasonal payment covers your vessel and all of its passengers in lieu of individual daily admission fees.

The fee for an annual admission sticker varies in accordance with the registered length of your vessel.

Fees applicable from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024 are as follows:

●    Vessels up to and including eight metres: $350
●    Vessels longer than eight metres but less than 10 metres: $420
●    Vessels 10 metres or longer, but less than 15 metres: $490
●    Vessels 15 metres or longer, but less than 20 metres: $840
●    Vessels 20 metres or longer: $980

Note: A 50% discount is applied to annual admission fees after 1 April.

After Rottnest Island Authority has issued you with a blue annual admission sticker, displaying it on the port side of your vessel permits anchoring, beach anchoring, and hire of boating facilities such as swing moorings, jetty pens, and beach pens.

Like all other boat users at Rottnest Island, annual admission permit holders must comply with the terms and conditions of vessel entry to the Rottnest Island reserve (PDF 86.3KB).
