About
Boat operators have always been important members of the Rottnest family, with about 300,000 boating visits to the island every year.
The appeal of the island, just 18km from the Perth coast, is not difficult to understand.
The beautiful Rottnest Island waters are home to the southern-most tropical coral reef in Australia, with over 450 species of fish, bottlenose dolphins, Australian sea lions and migrating whales calling this amazing marine environment home.
To protect, enhance and conserve this special marine environment, all visitors are required to pay an admission fee. Boat skippers and passengers visiting the Island can pay these admission fees annually or per individual per visit.
