| | The HIF WA Pro Am Series has developed from the WA State Open Series and 2013 will see the three event series travel to some of the best locations in WA, to crown state surfing champions across multiple divisions.
HIF WA Pro Am Series has played an integral part in the development of surfing in Western Australia. Round # 1 Margaret River, Round # 2 Geraldton and wrapping up on Rottnest Island.
These events provide competitors with the opportunity to compete for cash, great prizes, State Surfing Team selection for National Titles, wildcards into the trials for the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro and the honour of being crowned the State Surfing Champion for WA.

Participants will hear dreamtime stories of the traditional owners, the Whadjuk people, and discover the more recent history of maritime exploration, European discovery and see evidence of the defence Rottnest Island provided to Western Australia’s mainland assets.

Environmental Awareness

This course provides participants with an insight to how Rottnest Island really operates behind the scenes to deliver essential services to visitors, businesses and residents including the provision of water and energy, treatment of waste water and waste management. The day will include visits to sites that demonstrate the Authority’s programs and initiatives that address environmental management including rehabilitation projects, marine sanctuary zones and a sustainable villa that is on trial.
