Visit the most recent exhibition at Wadjemup Museum, featuring artworks from over 50 Aboriginal artists across Western Australia.

Running from 10 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, the exhibition explores the diverse and enduring relationships that Aboriginal communities hold with Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.

Curated by Emilia Galatis and supported by the Wadjemup Aboriginal Reference Group, the exhibition features a vibrant mix of acrylic works on canvas, silkworks, and sculptural weavings. Artworks range from renowned artists such as Mervyn Street and Sharyn Egan, to emerging talents like Dawn Alone.

Each piece reflects a unique connection to Wadjemup, touching on themes such as Dreamtime stories, natural landscapes, personal histories, storylines, and the island’s complex past as a site of Aboriginal incarceration.

This exhibition continues the commitment to truth-telling and cultural collaboration, ensuring that the full story of Wadjemup is told, respected, and remembered.
