Collaborative Weaving Workshop with Sharyn Egan
Details
  • 15 – 18 April 2026
  • 1 pm – 3 pm
  • Free event

These collaborative weaving workshops invite you to work together on a shared artwork led by renowned Noongar artist, Sharyn Egan.

Using natural fibres you will contribute to a large-scale woven piece that will be installed in the Wadjemup Sculpture Garden. Over time, the artwork will naturally weather and return to the landscape, reflecting themes of connection, care and impermanence.

This is a calm and reflective space for learning and creativity for all ages from 8 years and over, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

These weaving workshops are part of a free Artist in Residence program featuring events with renowned Aboriginal artists, running from 8 to 18 April at Wadjemup Museum

Sessions are free to attend, however registration is essential as places are limited.

She is also the artist behind the island’s striking 9-metre-high artwork Koora-Yeye-Boordawan-Kalyakoorl (Past-Present-Future-Forever), depicting a Noongar warrior and a breaching whale.
