Pull into Wadjemup Museum to journey through a quiver of surfboards, collection of historic surfing exhibits and discover what makes Wadjemup a world class surfing destination.

This newest exhibition at Wadjemup Museum offers an opportunity to explore the essence of surfing on Wadjemup and what makes catching a wave in the island's marine sanctuaries so unique. 

Immerse yourself in the personal stories of the island's surfing pioneers and the legends integral to the formation of the lasting surfing culture that still thrives today.

Visual and interactive displays offer insight in the cultural connection of wave riding as well as the diversity of impressive breaks surrounding Wadjemup, from iconic Stricko's to Chicken Reef, Stark Bay and Ricey Beach. 

The exhibition also features an indoor surfboard for visitors to feel the thrill of a wave - a perfect opportunity for a photo as a memento to take home with you.

Where to find Surf’s Up Wadjemup

The exhibition is located at the Wadjemup Museum, in the Old Mill & Hay Store building.

You’ll find it behind the settlement mall, and an easy walk from the main jetty in Thomson Bay.
