Join a free workshop session where you will have the opportunity to make surfboard themed art as part of the Surf's Up Wadjemup exhibition in the Wadjemup Museum.

Learn about the culture of surfing on Wadjemup and create your own mini surfboard using repurposed materials.

If you love surfing and want to explore your creative skills, then these workshops are a perfect activity for you and your family during the January school holidays.

The workshops will be facilitated by artists from Kindling Creative to provide you with a playful and unique experience.

The workshops sessions will be held on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 January 2024 in the Wadjemup Museum gardens.

Workshops attendance is free, but registrations are essential due to limited capacity per session.

If you wish to browse the Surf’s Up Wadjemup exhibition prior to or after your workshop, please note that entry to the museum is by donation, with proceeds going to Rottnest Foundation. PayWave and cash donations are accepted.

There are four one-hour open sessions per day to choose from, suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Thursday 18 January 2024

9 am, 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm

Workshop attendance is free, but registrations are essential due to limited capacity per session.

Visit the Wadjemup Museum from 8 December 2024 to explore Surf’s Up Wadjemup, an exhibition on the history and culture of surfing at Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.

The Wadjemup Museum is open daily from 10 am to 3:30 pm.

Where to find Surf’s Up Wadjemup: Arts & Crafts Workshops

The workshops will be held in the Wadjemup Museum gardens, the outside area adjacent to the Wadjemup Museum.

You will find the Wadjemup Museum behind the settlement mall, and an easy walk from the main jetty in Thomson Bay.
