Take part in a free workshop session these April school holidays learning about Aboriginal arts and crafts and Australian native animals or create your own surfing artwork, drawing inspiration from the Surf's Up Wadjemup exhibition.

The workshops will be facilitated by Aboriginal artists from Kyooya Designs, who are dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable and creative experience.

The workshop sessions will be held on Tuesday 2 April and Wednesday 3 April 2024 in the Wadjemup Museum gardens.

Workshop attendance is free, but registrations are essential due to limited capacity per session.

If you wish to browse the Surf's Up Wadjemup exhibition prior to or after your workshop, please note that entry to the museum is by donation. PayWave and cash donations are accepted.

There are two 1.5 hour open sessions per day to choose from, suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Visit the Wadjemup Museum to explore Surf’s Up Wadjemup, an exhibition on the history and culture of surfing at Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.

The Wadjemup Museum is open daily from 10 am to 3:30 pm.

Where to find Surf’s Up Wadjemup: Painting & Crafts Workshops

The workshops will be held in the Wadjemup Museum gardens, the outside area adjacent to the Wadjemup Museum.

You will find the Wadjemup Museum behind the settlement mall, and an easy walk from the main jetty in Thomson Bay.
