With the island’s iconic fauna and flora blooming with the new season, there is plenty of adventure and wonder on offer to keep curious young minds and junior explorers entertained at Rottnest Island these school holidays.

Rottnest Voluntary Guides School Holiday Program

Every school holidays, the Rottnest Voluntary Guides Association offers a program of activities and tours that will get kids out learning more about Rottnest’s natural environment, iconic wildlife and local history.

The school holidays program is currently still in development. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to receive it once released.

Hire a bike and snorkel equipment from Pedal & Flipper and explore the incredible beaches and bays, meeting the local wildlife. Just collect an island map from the Visitor Centre and take your pick of family friendly locations.

Catch a joy ride on the historic Captain Hussey Train which runs from the settlement to Oliver Hill, or enjoy mini-golf and retro arcade games as well as catching the latest new release movies at Rottnest Movies and Mini Golf.

Keen to make the most of the picturesque beaches while staying (mostly) dry? Hop on an Eco Express adventure boat tour (suitable for kids over the age of 4). Or take a land-based adventure on a revolutionary set of wheels with Segway Tours WA (suitable for kids over the age of 12).

For a more insightful look through Rottnest Island's rich history, take a walk around Wadjemup Museum and the Children’s Museum. Discover a range of exhibits and stories from the island's past including 40,000-year-old artefacts, whale bones and the lighthouse keeper’s jacket.

Where to find school holiday activities

School holiday activities can be found around the island, including in the main settlement area.
