Join a guided climb of Wadjemup Lighthouse to marvel at its inner workings before breathing in the salty sea breeze from the island’s highest point.
Wadjemup Lighthouse stands proud at an impressive 38 metres, making it the fourth tallest lighthouse of its kind in Australia.
Hear tales of engineering feats from your knowledgeable guide as you climb the tight spiralling staircase, comprising 155 stairs. As you ascend, learn how the prisms and pendulums were used to create a guiding light for lost sailors in the past. Today, the lighthouse is still a crucial beacon that helps vessels safely navigate their way towards Fremantle port.
Once you’ve ascended to the top of the tower, experience 360-degree views out over the island and gaze at the shimmering Indian Ocean that sprawls in every direction.
Tours of the site are conducted daily between 10 am and 2:30 pm.
